Next, you can use the Pythagorean Theorem to solve for the length of the ramp (c). You know that:

  • One leg (a) is 2 feet long
  • The other leg (b) is 4 feet long

You can plug in these values into the theorem formula and solve for c:

c² = a² + b²

c² = 2² + 4²

c² = 4 + 16

c² = 20

c = sqrt(20)

c ≈ 4.47

Therefore, the length of the ramp required is approximately 4.47 feet.
