Scholarships can be found anywhere, with any major University, College or institution. Often funded by global and regional organizations that support talents to study at any country.

How do you write a thank you letter for a University or College scholarship?

When you are preparing an official handwritten or typed thank you letter, it's good to emphasize the advantage this scholarship will give you, and you can show gratitude. Be sure that the letter is clear, neat and legible. The use of a thank you card, personal stationary or plain stationary alternatively is also acceptable. You may address this message of thanks to the Donor Organization or Financial Aid Office and you can follow this format.

First paragraph: State the purpose of your letter.

• I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to you for making the {{Name of Scholarship}} possible. I was thrilled to learn of my selection for this honor and I am deeply appreciative of your support.

Second paragraph: Share a little about yourself (your goals, background) and indicate why the scholarship is important.

• I was both surprised and honored to receive the scholarship from your organization. I am aware of some of the things you do for our community, particularly in support of education.
• Third paragraph: Close by thanking the person again and make a commitment to do well with the “donor’s investment.”
• I am currently majoring in Education with hopes of becoming a high school teacher. I will graduate from Rogue Community College in June and plan on attending the University of Excellence.
• The financial assistance you provided will be of great help to me in paying my educational expenses, and it will allow me to concentrate more of my time for studying.
  
• I appreciate your confidence in me and willingness to contribute to my future education. 
• I am transferring from College and look forward to completing my Bachelor’s Degree at University. 
• At the current time, I plan on majoring in Business Administration and Interior Design in hopes of one day opening my own design business. 

Closing:

•  Close by thanking the person again and make a commitment to do well with the “donor’s investment.”
